Where Joy & Learning for a Lifetime Begins

At ECA, our objective is to teach children about the joy of Christ and how that joy will help them to become future worldchangers and peacemakers. A culture of excellence, along with daily Bible lessons, chapel programs, and mission work help develop the God-given talents of each child.

Parents often have specific expectations when it comes to a private Christian education.

Rigorous Academics
Whether children are preparing for a four-year college, a technical college, military training, or the workforce, parents want them to think better, write better, lead better and solve problems better. Much of our curriculum is research-based, insuring that our students are getting the best possible material to prepare them for wherever God leads them..

Faith Formation
Many parents appreciate the high priority Christian schools take when intentionally developing children’s character. They especially desire spiritual development for their children. With that in mind, we use Summit Ministries, Building on the Rock series, which lays the groundwork for Biblical worldview education in kindergarten through fifth grade. By studying 20 Biblical principles, students “stop seeing the Bible as just a book of unique stories and start seeing Scripture as the litmus test for every idea they encounter.” Beginning in sixth grade students explore the meaning of Biblical worldview and secular worldview and how those views can affect our day-to-day life decisions.

Opportunity
We give children an opportunity to be who God created them to be. Our small size, coupled with caring teachers and staff, allows us to know, understand, guide and love every child. Our resources such as art, music, physical education, Spanish, and technology, as well as extra-curricular activities such as Junior Beta Club and Elementary Science Olympiad are some of the ways ECA provides opportunities for students to find and develop their passions.

Community
ECA is a loving place where students, families and staff care about each other. Community is God’s desire for us, and when we grow in our relationships with others, we’re growing in relationship with Him!

A Dream Realized

Dream it.

In the early 1970's, Dr. Jerry Wallace envisioned a Christian school on the campus of Elizabethtown Baptist Church. With much prayer and support of the congregation, Dr. Wallace established a Day School for 3-year-old and 4-year-old students which moved on to become a successful ministry of EBC for over 45 years. In the  early years of 2000, a 2-year old program was added, expanding the opportunity to educate and nurture children in a Christian environment. The dream of a Christian academy would be put on hold for 41 years - until a tornado raced across Bladen County on April 16, 2011 and rendered the educational building as unusable.

Build it.

At that point, the opportunity to rebuild and create classrooms for kindergarten through second grade sparked an interest within the church and the community. Through the direction, support and leadership of the EBC pastor, its members and Dr. Ronald Montgomery, Elizabethtown Christian Academy opened its doors in 2012.

Elizabethtown Christian Academy has since grown to include Day School, Afterschool and grades K-8. The academy added a successful state and national award winning Beta Club in 2016 and a district winning elementary Science Olympiad team in 2017. In 2022, we added girls volleyball and basketball.
